Description
The Community Tech Worker program is located at University of Michigan and is funded through a grant from the NSF. The program trains individuals to become community tech workers, who will provide knowledge and support about the Internet and technology to aging residents in a public housing authority in Detroit and refugees in a public housing community in Ypsilanti. MiCHWA is involved in the project because they are cross-training the community tech workers to become community health workers. This allows the community workers to help individuals with their technological needs as well as their health needs.
