Description
University of Michigan-Flint College of Nursing received funding from HRSA to increase the number and quality of sexual assault nurse educators (SANEs) and strengthen the current SANE workforce for rural and underserved communities in Michigan. U of M-Flint College of Nursing will do so by developing and implementing a new SANE certificate program that includes experiential, precepted, and simulation-based learning experiences (SBLEs) for Registered Nurses, Advance Practice Nurses and Forensic Nurses. The new SANE curriculum will prepare nurses to transition into their roles in the underserved communities they will practice in by incorporating empathy and exposure to real or simulated sexual assault (SA) survivors in underserved communities.
