Last week, NBC News aired a segment highlighting the importance health care career preparation programs play in helping at-risk youth in Oakland, California.
One of the Michigan’s Health Council’s youth programs, Michigan HOSA, provides some of the same programming to students across Michigan.
Through education, leadership training, and competitions, HOSA students learn about health care career skills and future options. Just as importantly, these students gain lasting friendships and self-esteem to help them achieve their academic goals.
This great video highlights all the exciting things HOSA students learn and do in Michigan. Watching the students participate in this program shows the impact it has on each of their lives.
