Michigan Health Council (MHC) has once again been recognized as one of Southeast Michigan’s Best Places to Work by Crain's Detroit Business. This marks the second consecutive year MHC has received this honor, which celebrates organizations that cultivate outstanding workplace cultures rooted in support, engagement, and growth.
This recognition reflects MHC’s continued commitment to fostering an environment where employees feel valued, empowered, and connected to the organization’s mission: ensuring the future of Michigan’s healthcare workforce. Through comprehensive benefits, meaningful professional development opportunities, and a strong emphasis on work-life balance, MHC remains dedicated to providing an environment where both individuals and teams can thrive.
“At MHC, we believe our people are our greatest strength. This recognition is a reflection of the supportive, mission-driven culture our team has built together,” said Craig Donahue, President and CEO of MHC. ”When our employees feel valued and empowered, it directly impacts the work we do to strengthen Michigan’s healthcare workforce.”

The 2025 list was developed by Crain’s in partnership with Workforce Research Group through a rigorous two-part evaluation process. The first phase assessed each company’s workplace policies, practices, and demographics, accounting for 20% of the total score. The remaining 80% was based on detailed employee surveys measuring satisfaction, engagement, and culture, offering an authentic look into working at each organization. Workforce Research Group then analyzed the data and used its expertise to determine the final ranking.
This continued recognition is a testament to the passion and dedication of the MHC team. As the organization grows its impact across Michigan’s healthcare landscape, it remains equally committed to nurturing a workplace culture that reflects its core values.
