Jan Harrington Davis, MBP, CLRP, is the Senior Vice President of Talent Attraction at Corewell Health and a member at large of the MHC Board of Trustees. She recently shared her thoughts on what makes being part of the MHC board meaningful, and how it aligns with her work and professional goals.
“As the senior vice president of talent attraction within a major healthcare system, I have dedicated my career to building inclusive, sustainable pipelines that attract, support, and retain a diverse and skilled healthcare workforce. I believe access to health care and access to health care careers are fundamentally linked – and that to improve outcomes for our communities, we must first invest in breaking down systemic barriers that prevent individuals from entering and advancing in the field.
Serving as a board trustee for the Michigan Health Council (MHC) is a natural and deeply meaningful extension of my work. MHC’s mission to improve access to quality healthcare by strengthening the health workforce directly aligns with the goals I pursue every day; identifying and addressing workforce shortages, creating equitable opportunities and ensuring that the people who care for our communities reflect the diversity, values and strengths of those communities.

I am particularly inspired by MHC’s focus on removing barriers – whether educational, economic or geographic – that limit access to healthcare professions. In my leadership role, I’ve seen how targeted, equity-driven talent strategies can transform lives and organizations. I bring to the board a strategic understanding of workforce dynamics, a commitment to data-informed decision-making and a passion for partnerships that move from intention to impact.
By serving on the Michigan Health Council board, I am honored to contribute to a shared vision: one where every person has access to care, and every aspiring healthcare professional has a path forward. Together, we can shape a future where the health workforce is as resilient, compassionate, and diverse as the communities it serves.”
Jan’s expertise brings an invaluable perspective to our work. We are grateful for her partnership and passion for advancing MHC’s mission. For a complete list of MHC’s Board of Trustees, visit mhc.org/meet-the-board.
