Description
By providing targeted investments and supports for HCBS (""Home & Community-Based Services"") paraprofessionals, who are disproportionately women, immigrants, and people of color, HPEI aims to significantly increase equity, diversity, and cultural and linguistic competence among licensed health professionals in Rhode Island.
This initiative supports career advancement of participants by providing last-dollar tuition assistance for postsecondary education, as well as funds for wraparound supports, such as books, fees, supplies, childcare, transportation, etc.
The innovative HPEI program is currently funded by American Rescue Plan Act monies and will run from Fall 2022 – March 2025.
