Training individuals to work in a healthcare profession; Providing a benefit or incentive that encourages individuals to pursue a healthcare profession

Description

The American Indian Health- AHEC focuses on empowering Indigenous youth with knowledge, skills, and opportunities to pursue careers in healthcare. These programs integrate culturally relevant education, mentorship, and hands-on experience to inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

By collaborating with tribal leaders, elders, and healthcare institutions, the program ensures that training is grounded in traditional knowledge while incorporating modern medical practices. Summer programs, health clubs, and student resources provide exposure to career pathways in medicine, nursing, public health, and allied health fields.
