Description

The Detroit Wayne County Health Authority (DWCHA) GME Consortium has an accredited psychiatry residency program that has a mission of improving the health of the medically underserved in Detroit and Wayne County by placing psychiatry residents in a local federally-qualified health center (FQHC), a psychiatric hospital and selected community health agencies (CMHs). Residents complete a certificate program in Population Health with an emphasis on awareness and reduction of health disparities. Residents must work in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Since the program started in 2013, about 60% of graduates are practicing in physician or primary care shortage area and 100% of graduates pass the specialty board exam in psychiatry.

Michigan Health Council does not administer all of the programs in this database. Please see the "organizations involved" above to learn who you should contact for more information.
