MSU College of Human Medicine has partner schools, and students during their junior year of undergrad can apply to this program as a representative of their college/university. The preferred qualities of students applying to MSUCHM through Mission SMART are those who are first-generation college students, graduated from a low-income high school, are eligible for need-based grants, want to practice in a high-need medical specialty area, and/or hold Michigan residency. The purpose of the program is to increase admission to (underserved) students who will treat underserved populations and communities.
