Description
Saginaw Cooperative Hospitals received a HRSA grant to support and train 4 additional Psychiatry residents from Central Michigan University. The Psychiatry residents will be working at CMU Medical Education Partners (CMEP) Behavioral Health center and HealthSource Saginaw Behavioral Health Medicine Center, caring for high acuity, low-resourced patients. The clinical sites are located in a health professional shortage area (HPSA). This grant furthers their goal of training diverse and culturally-competent physicians who will improve behavioral health for medically-underserved populations in the Saginaw area. The grant period ends in 2026.
