Description
The Detroit Recovery Project received over $2 million from HRSA to support an initiative called Recovery Training Institute (RTI-III). RTI-III will create technology-based training curricula to address the impact of opiates and other drugs to youth and transitional-aged youth in Detroit and metro Detroit. The training will be provided to paraprofessionals who want to become peer support specialists and other behavioral health-related paraprofessionals. RTI-III plans to train 80 paraprofessionals over the four-year grant. Curriculum includes 80+ hours of didactic and interactive classroom-based coursework training, a 25-hour practical training experience, and a 500-hour internship.
