OKEMOS, Mich.—(July 17, 2025)— Michigan HOSA proudly celebrated the achievements of its student members at the 2025 HOSA International Leadership Conference (ILC), held June 18–21 in Nashville, Tennessee. With 426 attendees representing the state, Michigan HOSA had a powerful presence among the more than 14,000 participants from across the nation, representing Michigan middle and high schools.
Michigan students earned 11 Gold, 6 Silver, and 9 Bronze medals in competitive events that highlight leadership, professional skills, and health science knowledge. In addition to those who medaled, 48 finalists placed in the top 10 of their events.
“The success of our Michigan HOSA members at this year’s ILC is a testament to their commitment to excellence, as well as the dedicated educators and advisors who support them,” said Mark Burley, Michigan HOSA Director and Chief Staff Development Officer at Michigan Health Council. “Our students are not only competing—they’re preparing to be the future of healthcare.”

Michigan HOSA students earned their place on the international stage by performing well at the State Leadership Conference (SLC) this past spring. The ILC included competitive events, leadership workshops, networking opportunities, and recognition of outstanding achievements. Events spanned areas such as medical innovation, public health, and clinical nursing, helping students gain insight into the diverse and essential roles within the healthcare workforce.
