Craig Donahue Named Incoming President and CEO of Michigan Health Council

LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Health Council (MHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Donahue as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2024. Donahue brings a wealth of experience and a profound commitment to advancing health care in Michigan to this leadership role.


Melanie Brim, MHC’s outgoing President and CEO, praised Donahue's selection, stating, "Craig’s dedication to catalyzing positive change within Michigan's health care system is truly remarkable. His track record of innovation and unwavering commitment to improving the health care workforce aligns seamlessly with the goals of Michigan Health Council."


Donahue has marketing and political science degrees, as well as an MPA in urban administration and nonprofit management. He has worked at MHC for more than 16 years, where he’s served in various leadership roles. In his current position as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Donahue is responsible for implementing organizational strategies, financial management, fund development, grant management, and staff recruitment. Donahue’s reputation as a visionary leader who consistently seeks to create sustainable solutions reinforces his suitability for guiding Michigan Health Council into the future.
