Description

PREPaRE is a training curriculum offered by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and it teaches school-employed mental health professionals and educators that are part of their school's crisis response team how to best fill their roles and responsibilities on that team. It is the only comprehensive, nationally-available training curriculum developed by educators for educators. The curriculum includes two core workshops, with one entitled "Comprehensive School Safety Planning: Prevention Through Recovery" and the other "Mental Health Crisis Interventions: Responding to an Acute Traumatic Stressor in Schools". The goal of PREPaRE is to improve school psychologists' and other school mental health professionals' ability to lead their school through a crisis if/when one occurs through a trauma-informed lens.
