Description
The Advancing Innovation in Residency Education (AIRE) program is run by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). AIRE encourages schools that offer medical residency programs to submit innovative educational pilot proposals that are based around the main principles of competency-based medical education (CBME), which values residents taking a variable amount of time to complete their program based on how long it takes for them to achieve proficiency of predefined goals. ACGME reviews and approves AIRE proposals that meet their standards. The goal of AIRE is to promote greater innovation in residency training to then improve the quality and safety of health care that program graduates provide to their patients.
Michigan Health Council does not administer all of the programs in this database. Please see the "organizations involved" above to learn who you should contact for more information.
