Inspire the Next Generation of Behavioral Health Professionals
The Michigan Health Council invites healthcare organizations, educators, and community partners to participate in our upcoming Virtual Behavioral Health Career Day, which will take place this spring (date TBD). This free event will bring together high school students from across Michigan to explore meaningful and rewarding careers in the behavioral health field, such as psychology, counseling, and social work, with a special focus on school-based mental health roles.

Presentation Opportunities
We’re seeking engaging, student-centered presentations or demonstrations from:

Behavioral health professionals (e.g., counselors, psychologists, therapists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, peer support specialists)

Colleges, universities, and training programs offering behavioral health degrees or certifications

Community organizations that provide mental health or substance use services
-
Healthcare systems that employ or support behavioral health professionals
Sessions may include:

Career spotlights or personal stories

Panel discussions with professionals or students in training

Skill demonstrations (e.g., mindfulness activities, coping strategies, communication exercises)
