Description
MyMichigan Health has a Preceptor Program to increase the number of internally-certified, experienced nurse preceptors within their health system. The Preceptor Program includes a class that teaches nurses basic adult learning principles and how to be a leader through preceptorship. After nurses complete the Preceptor Program, they are offered ongoing courses to ensure proficiency in their preceptor role. The Preceptor Program offered either entirely online or in a face-to-face format. So far, over 200 nurses have been certified as preceptors at MyMichigan Health. The expansion of nurse preceptors allows more nursing students to be trained and newly hired nurses to acclimate more smoothly to their unit(s).
Michigan Health Council does not administer all of the programs in this database. Please see the "organizations involved" above to learn who you should contact for more information.
