Description
The OsteoCHAMPS program is an 8-day residential experience at Michigan State University over the summer that provides education, resources and tools for disadvantaged Michigan high school students so that they are more likely to work in health careers. OsteoCHAMPS provides academic curriculum in anatomy, biochemistry, writing and in a medical research project. There is opportunity for experiential learning through clinical skills and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Further, the OsteoCHAMPS staff provides year-round support to the alumni. There is also a version of the program for the Upper Peninsula. The goal of the program is to help foster health career interests among disadvantaged Michigan high school students and help them achieve their career goals.
Michigan Health Council does not administer all of the programs in this database. Please see the "organizations involved" above to learn who you should contact for more information.
