Description
Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved (LMU) is a certificate program for medical students who want to work with medically underserved and vulnerable populations in urban, rural, and international settings. The certificate educates students about the clinical and leadership skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to work with underserved and vulnerable populations. The training includes community involvement at various local organizations, core clerkship integration in underserved clinics and international/urban electives. The program is based in Flint and accepts 16 students per year. The goal of the certificate program is to prepare students to effectively treat patients in underserved areas with sensitivity and expertise.
Michigan Health Council does not administer all of the programs in this database. Please see the "organizations involved" above to learn who you should contact for more information.
