Description
The University of Michigan-Flint is establishing a new Nurse Practitioner Residency Program for psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners in medically underserved settings in Flint, Michigan. The program partners with Hurley Medical Center and Hamilton Community Health Network, two inner-city Flint clinics, but is also seeking to expand its partners to provide psychiatric mental health care to underserved communities in rural Michigan. This program will recruit and train four PMHNP residents per year and provide them with a salary commensurate to 70% of the existing NP yearly rate. 40% of PMHNP residents will be retained to work in Flint and surrounding underserved communities.
