Missaukee EMS and Northwest Michigan Works! collaborated to offer tuition-free EMS training to employees at rural Michigan fire departments. The initiative was supported by a MiLEAP grant. The goal of this initiative is to increase the number of EMS in the Missaukee area so that local fire departments have staff equipped to handle emergency calls.
