Become a Nurse Mentor or Mentee with The Mentoring Project!

The Mentoring Project allows nursing students and professionals to engage in mentoring experiences online. It is a joint initiative of two Michigan Health Council programs, Michigan Center for Nursing and ACEMAPP. The intent of this project was to help nurses overcome barriers to long term employment in health care.

Becoming a nursing mentor or mentee allows individuals to engage in professional development and virtually connect with a professional mentor or mentee.

This project is currently seeking both new and established nurses to participate in a 6 month mentorship. Activities will follow a curriculum developed by nurses, for nurses. Schedules and methods of contact are flexible for busy schedules. Register as a mentor here.

The main areas of focus throughout the experience will be:

  1. Professional resiliency

  2. Communication

  3. Conflicts in the workplace

  4. Leadership skills

  5. Time management

  6. Professional goals

Participating mentors and mentees will be matched based on work setting, practice area and professional interests. Please note that all activities are guided by mentors, but driven by mentees.
