Not “pie in the sky,” but a school in the virtual cloud can make a world of difference. This TED talk by Sugata Mitra highlights how cloud-based assets can be used to help children in the developing world learn.
But think about how these tools can create new learning opportunities right here in Michigan. Students can connect with their peers around specific learning objectives, wherever they may be. Distributing channels of learning can provide greater access to high quality learning.
Central Michigan University is developing a similar model, using distance learning technology to open a remote campus to teach Physician Assistants in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
