For the past 22 years, I have had the privilege of leading the Michigan Health Council. We started as three people in two rooms in the “garden level” of the Michigan State Medical Society. Today, we’re in our own building, with almost twenty employees, and doing better than ever.
The Michigan Health Council is in a better position today than it has ever been. That is why I am very happy to announce my retirement.
I will be officially retiring from the Health Council effective on February 28, 2014.
We have done a great deal of work during the past twenty years, but I can hardly call it “work.” The Michigan Health Council has been my life’s passion.
While I’m extremely excited to enjoy some well-deserved time off spent traveling and with my children and grandchildren, I’m even more excited to see what the team here will continue to accomplish after I leave.
This organization is clearly not “one person.” Of everything we have achieved together at the Michigan Health Council, I am most proud of the culture we have created that values growth, innovation, responsibility, and teamwork.
