As part of our effort to strengthen our state’s healthcare workforce, MHC supports two dedicated healthcare workforce centers: The Michigan Center for Health Professionals and Michigan Center for Nursing. The Michigan Healthcare Workforce Center is sponsored by the Michigan Department of Community Health and is a significant resource for healthcare workforce.
Michigan Center for Nursing is a champion for nursing across the state, working toward the vision of providing Michigan with a high-quality nursing workforce that meets the healthcare needs of its communities. Its focus on collaboration, communication and consensus-building have strengthened the nursing workforce, and its premier programs—including forums, institutes, summits, and workshops/presentations/informational meetings—have set the standard for nursing events in the region.
Michigan Center for Health Professionals focuses on the critical issues of recruitment, education and retention of health professionals. Its goal is to foster collaboration within the healthcare community to reach policy consensus, promote workforce diversity, and assist in sustaining and enhancing Michigan’s healthcare workforce.
Michigan Healthcare Workforce Center - The Michigan Healthcare Workforce Center (MHWC) is an informational resource initiative designed to gather, review and disseminate information on healthcare workforce related issues. The Center serves as a clearinghouse for information and data regarding healthcare workforce development at the state and national level. The Center is also designed to assist individuals and agencies in their efforts to address current and anticipated workforce shortages.
